  A group of 20-year-olds in Lafayette, LA, were determined to start a new Mardi Gras Krewe for young adults. Each took turns hosting meetings.

  Contacted Library of Congress for possible French names and titles.

  Harold Abdalla, President, Charles Chatelain, First Vice President, Ed (Boogie) Wynne Jr., Second Vice President, Barbara Abdalla, Secretary & Treasurer. Nine board members were also elected.
• June 1, 1972

  Judge Advocate, John Hill is drawing up charter and by – laws.
  This first year will be Charter Members (81) $65 plus $15 initiation fee.
• June 14, 1972

  The Krewe presented to the Southwest LA Mardi Gras Association with the goal and desire to participate in the Lafayette Mardi Gras. The association agreed and turned over the Monday Night Parade to Bonaparte. The original Parade route started at Pontiac Point and ended at Borden's off of Bertrand Drive. After the Parade, the Krewe of Bonaparte would host a Formal Ball, honoring Queen Evangeline.
